Babushka

Classic Egg · 6'0 to 8'8

The Babushka is an accessible classic egg for surfers who want paddle power, a familiar outline and a board that can cover a broad range of days.

Clean and useful

The fuller nose and restrained rocker help with entry and glide. The single or 2+1 setup lets the finished board lean towards a clean single-fin feel or a little more hold.

Where it works

Choose the Babushka when you want an easy, reliable board that can help progression without feeling like a soft or disposable stepping stone.

Family
Classic Egg
Size range
6'0 to 8'8
Fin set-up
Single or 2+1. Single gives a loose, glidy feel that suits the relaxed nature of the shape. 2+1 adds drive and hold for surfers who want more control or are riding in punchier surf.
Construction
PU, EPS or agave blank, glassed with high bio-content epoxy resin.

Outline

Smooth, continuous curves from nose to tail. The round tail keeps the outline clean and predictable. Nothing extreme in any direction.

Rocker

Low to moderate. Enough to handle steeper takeoffs without the board feeling sluggish paddling in. The low rocker keeps it fast and easy to catch waves on.

Bottom contours

Belly through the nose keeps the entry forgiving and helps prevent the nose digging on takeoff. This transitions into a single concave through the mid-section, adding lift and direction, before releasing through a vee in the tail for a softer, more pivoty feel off the back foot.

Good for

All-round performance, beginners progressing from a foamie, intermediate surfers wanting something reliable, small to overhead surf, and surfers who want one board that covers most bases.
