A surfboard built around your surfing.
Start with a little context, then tell James what you are looking for in your own words. The brief gives him enough to continue the conversation properly.
How we build your board.
The brief gives James useful context. From there he works through the shape, dimensions, rails, contours, fin set-up and finish before the board is shaped, laminated and finished by hand.
- 01
Brief
You explain where you surf, what you have ridden, and what you want the next board to do.
- 02
Shape
James turns that into a practical direction: model, size range, outline and the details worth discussing.
- 03
Build
The agreed board is shaped, glassed and finished in the workshop.
- 04
Handover
Collection or delivery is arranged once the board is ready and the finish has been checked.
The results.
“Absolutely stoked with the incredible work by Whitburn Surfboards. He shaped a gorgeous triple stringer longboard for me. He nailed the dimensions perfectly, and the final result looks absolutely stunning. The customer service was just as good as the shaping; he kept me in the loop the whole time and the turnaround was so quick. I can't wait to take it out. If you're looking for a custom shape, look no further!”

Materials chosen for the board.
Whitburn boards are built around the brief, the material and the finish. PU, EPS or agave can all make sense depending on the board. High bio-content epoxy resin is used across the surfboard builds.
Colour, tint, stringer, tail-block and finish details are confirmed with James before the build starts. The useful choices stay in. The decorative noise gets left out.

Start the board brief.
Keep it practical. Tell James what you ride, where you surf and what you want the next board to feel like.
