Fish surfboard or egg?
Both shapes carry width and paddle well. The difference appears in how they create speed and how much range you need from the board.

The feel of a fish
A fish is usually chosen for easy speed, a compact outline and a direct line through weaker surf. The wider plan shape and twin or quad setup can make the board feel fast before the wave offers much push.
Whitburn's Nudibranch leans into front-foot acceleration and high lines. It suits surfers who like to set a line early and carry speed through fast sections.
The range of an egg
An egg gives the shaper more room to move between easy paddling and responsive surfing. It can be built short or long, and the fin setup can change the character of the board substantially.
The Eggspiracy can take a single, twin, thruster, 2+1 or quad setup. Width, thickness and rocker can also be adjusted around ability and intended use.
Which direction fits the gap
Choose a fish when the brief centres on fast, loose surfing and a compact board. Choose an egg when paddle power, a wider range of conditions or several possible fin setups matter more.
The board already in your rack should influence the decision. A fish may add something distinct beside a mid-length. An egg may make more sense when one custom board needs to cover more days.
